Mount Olive Township is located in Morris County NJ. The community has a total area of 30.4 square miles and has approximately 10,000 housing units. Budd Lake (07828) and Flanders (07836) are the two primary sections. Some homes in Mount Olive have a Long Valley (07853) or Hackettstown (07840) mailing address. Due to its location on the west side of Morris County, furthest away from the employment centers to the east, Mt. Olive housing prices are relatively more affordable. Budd Lake, which formed during the glacial age, is the largest natural lake in New Jersey. Once a popular vacation destination, Budd Lake is now a suburban housing community with homes ranging from 1920s cottages on small lots - to 1970s bi-levels - to large center hall colonials constructed in recent years. Route 46 provides easy access to Budd Lake. Flanders, once a small village in the 1800s, is now a rural community flurried with newer housing developments. Beginning with Clover Hill in the 1960s - to Bennington Woods in the 1980s - to Flanders Crossing in the 1990s - to Windham Pointe built by Toll Brothers in the 2000s - there are lots of wonderful neighborhoods for home buyers to choose from. Route 206 provides easy access to Flanders. Woodfield at Mt. Olive offers townhouse and single family homes with a Hackettstown (07840) mailing address. Schools

The Mount Olive Township School District serves nearly 5,000 public school students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Schools in the district are four elementary schools serving grades K-5: Chester M. Stephens Elementary School, Mountain View School, Sandshore School, and Tinc Road School. Mount Olive Middle School serves students for grades 6-8 and Mount Olive High School for grades 9-12.

Commute

Mount Olive has easy access to Interstate 80 for an eastbound commute. U.S. Route 206 runs north-south through the Township. The community has a train station on the NJ Transit Morristown Line which provides direct service to Hoboken Terminal. Passengers can transfer to another train in Dover for Midtown Direct service to NY Penn Station. At Hoboken Terminal, passengers can switch to the PATH to reach NYC. The NJ Transit Montclair-Boonton Line also passes through the station. Lakeland Bus Lines provides service from Mount Olive or Netcong to NY Port Authority Terminal in Midtown. During rush hour, the bus ride takes about 80 minutes.

Recreation

There are numerous parks located in Mt. Olive, which include Turkey Brook Park, Powerline Park, Flanders Park, Lions Park, Lou Nelson, and Tulip Avenue Park. Turkey Brook is great for hiking and fishing, while Powerline and Flanders Park have baseball fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Lions Parks and Tulip Avenue Park are great for smaller children.

Shopping

There is an amazing about of nearby shopping for residents. The ITC Crossing, an 860,000 square foot shopping center adjacent to the International Trade Center, is located in Mount Olive. This complex is easily accessible to Interstate 80 and U.S. Routes 46 and 206. ITC Crossing features a host of retail shops including larger national chains like Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Lowe's Home Improvement, PetSmart, and Old Navy. It also features many of America's most popular fast-food and casual-dining restaurants. The Rockaway Townsquare Mall is about 15 minutes away in Rockaway Township and is one of the largest and most modern malls in New Jersey. The Ledgewood Mall and Roxbury Mall are about 10 minutes away in Roxbury Township.
